Cocotal Golf course and Country Club, that is located in Bavaro, Dominican Republic, was finally opened in year 2000, and previously designed by Jose “Pepe” Gancedo, born in 1938, Malaga, Spain.
Pepe Gancedo, who was formerly a six time Spanish champion, first started to play golf in age of 12, with half set from his aunt, and his father then bought him a first set of Kenneth Smith golf clubs later in age of 14.
27 holes Cocotal Golf course, has length of 7,183 yards, par 72.
Cocotal Golf has approx 1.8 million square meters (455 ares), and around 2200 residences. Cocotal golf has condominiums and duplex (attached homes) bordering the area, and following this condominiums, duplex and then individual Villas inside of the Golf course.
There is a main entrance opened 24h, and back entrance towards the highway. Access to residential area of Golf course is limited to tenants with ID and owners with Owners ID cards, however visitors can leave the personal ID at the entrance before entering.
To obtain tenants ID card, you need to take a copy of the rental contract and one phone for each member to the administration office located at the second floor of Club House Cocotal.
Club House Cocotal consist of PRO Shop, and a bar restaurant Hazard, opened until 12 AM. On the first floor are administration offices, storage, and Golf carts, machine for balls for driving range.
Around Club house are, driving range, putting green, and the central swimming pool (same design as you can see in Paradisus Palma Real), later were added paddle tennis courts, soccer field and a gym (karate classes etc).
Tenants have access to the swimming pool, and yearly Golf membership for four family members is 1000 US per year, additional cost after is 25 usd for Golf cart.
